| Description | Naumovozyma dairenensis is an ascomycetous yeast in the Saccharomyces sensu lato group within the family Saccharomycetaceae. Like its close relative Saccharomyces cerevisiae, it is one of the Saccharomycetaceae yeasts to have evolved from the ancestral whole-genome duplication that occurred in this family. In 2012 its 13.5Mb genome was sequenced and compared to the genomes 16 species of Saccharomycetaceae primarily to investigate sex chromosome evolution in this family. |
